What have you splurged on recently? (continued)

Forged in the Dark implies team play, is my expectation. Have they tweaked it to bind the PCs together with the team/group/gang rules while still plotting against each other? That sounds like a nice twist. It's the sort of thing that Monsterhearts needs to stop PCs going bananas on each other in the first session (not that I would ever have played in our run any games like that, naturally).

I’ll let you know when I read it. I think this is more like you being a group from one of the houses operating against others.

If you want the PVP version, the Sword, the Crown and the Unspeakable Power (SCUP) is the way to go and excellent.

Slightly to my surprise, I grabbed the D&D Starter Set cheap from Amazon this week, to go with the Essentials Kit that I already have.

The vague idea I have is run a combined Phandelver/Icespire Peak campaign, for the newbies in the hordes demanding D&D at the new games club I'm helping to start up.

My next plan is to run Into The Borderlands, the Goodman Games 5e reworking of the classic B1 and B2 modules. I picked that up a few months ago along with The Lost City (B4 reworked), mostly out of nostalgia to be honest.

I have a feeling that D&D will feature heavily in my Wednesday night games until the club is firmly established.

Picked up the 5e Trudvang books, plus the bestiary from the original line, in the fire sale at RiotMind games. (They have sold the rights to CMON so that's the end of the line.)
And here I had a bad feeling about Trudvang Adventures and divested away. Still have one Kickstarter "Seeds of Vanris" to receive.

I opted to invest in Fria Ligan's Ruins of Synbaroum for my 5e Nordic role playing games

Quite! I'd still like to get te original clunky d20 BRP system out for a spin. Wonder if that is a con game or more?
And now I am tempted with the firesale to get Lex Occultum. Not sure I need it, but it could be useful to harvest lore using the Ubiquity engeind from Leagues of Adventure Ubiquity instead. I had the Leagues of Cthulhu got the set at UKGE directly from the source.

Anyway, a very expensive splurge, but I finally got them all, the four chaos gods of the Warhammer 40,000 universe in the Black Crusade RPG, just for use with my Imperial themes games.

The most difficult to source and cost a bit was the Papa Nurgle Tome of Decay, then came the Lord of Excess, Slaanesh.

Even we know there are no "good" factions in the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium, at my table only Imperials are allowed for play.

So having finished both regular pre-pandemic Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader campaigns, I hope to restart those again with a new group but with more chaos gods playing spoiler.

"Tome of Decay" and "Tome of Excess" for my Dark Heresy campaigns
"Tome of Excess" and "Tome of Fate" for my Rogue Trader campaigns
"Tome of Fate" and "Tome of Blood" for my Deathwatch campaigns
"Tome of Blood" and "Tome of Decay" for my Only War campaigns

TBH I doubt I'll play it. Just wanted the books for the art and stories.. :) Got all the books for considerably less than the kickstarter would have cost, so that swung me.
