Discussion What games need more one-shot actual plays?

It would be ace if posters could augment their singular suggestions with why those games would be good to feature

I thoughy Traveller, for instance, had loads of AP videos out on YouTube- am I mistaken, or are they the wrong edition, or is there something missing in them?

Traveller needs your special sauce.

TBH I don’t really watch AP videos (although your approach seems a lot more focussed than most) so I’m not your audience…

Plus, the devil in me knows you folks don’t really like it but are super professional and I’m fascinated to see what you’d do.

OK, Spire needs some play because it's what I feel is an aspirational game that just needs an AP to push people from 'Oh I could run that' to running it. The mechanics are just wooly enough to need to be seen in play, and as long as the AP can summarise the setting in about 60 seconds, it is prime 'heist against the Aelfs' fodder. And you could do a nice R-rated #neverstreaming one....

Tenra Bansho Zero. I played this at Contingency, and it's actually a pretty fun system that can do some cool things once you get your head around it. However, for the first half an hour of explanation we the players were going "Eh? What?"

Oh, and the setting is completely nuts.

Is that one of your criteria for game selection? My sense on what you are trying to do is demonstrate your preferred fast play, focused, vim and vigour, no out of game flab, approach to game sessions, which if so, might counterpoint your tight hare like 2 hour APs, Vs the wobbly tortoises out there already? As such, you are almost better going for the hugely popular ones to make the point.

I'd like to see Action Tales! Games harnessed to your session style. The game system is light, with a phrase or word focused definition to characters, with no GM rolls. I think your style will accentuate the strengths of the system in any of the incarnations so far. I picked out Tomorrow City because it is new and I have half an eye on the creator and want to encourage support for his amazing work.

(I think you should also run games that you actually like, so I'm all for you giving Traveller a miss!)

I'd like to know what a game of Hot War actually looks like. Same for Mouseguard, particularly the weird two-phase bit.

Hillfolk - I think it deserves more love.

Trophy Gold/Dark - I'm interested in seeing how it plays.

I can confirm we've got a session of Spire recorded, and Mork Borg is in the works with a super secret guest GM when the scheduling kobolds get their act together. We've also stuck up Brindlewood Bay, Monster of the Week (playing a Trail of Cthulhu scenario), and many more - our latest is here - Salvage Union. Schedule is every other Saturday 5pm, with special features released as and when for special occasions. Any more game suggestions?

Well if we catch the temperature of this forum, then get us some high octane 'Outgunned ' action as soon as. Does the hype translate to breakneck action in actual play? Well, I guess your outfit are the ones to demonstrate!
