Why are you doing this?
I will hold ny Forbidden Lands and pray to resist temptation.

And I absolve myself of any responsibility tempting others. Just posting insights from the creator deities below:

Monte Cooke's Diamond Throne for the Cypher System

In this noble, giant-ruled land, explore the reaches of the Floating Forest. Discover the incomparable beauty of the magical Crystal Fields. Learn the secret of the God-King of the verrik people. But beware the military might of the chorrim and the fiendish powers of the shadow trolls.

A flock of gulls settles down on the rocks as the waves crash in around an ancient idol, the only remaining relic from a temple now forgotten by the descendants of those who built it. Down the coast lies a bustling city, heedless of the complex past, each individual living life as easily and as peacefully as possible. Giant ship captains, standing 12 feet high, issue commands to the black-furred, bestial sibeccai sailors aboard fantastic craft like those that once, hundreds of years ago, crossed the Great Eastern Sea. Cautious, brown-maned litorian warriors watch those around them closely, while diminutive faen and even tiny sprytes dart about, on their way to some great adventure. Stoic, vinaceous-skinned verrik and draconic-featured mojh stand among the human dockworkers, conscious of their differences—but silent.

The PDFs have landed and my goodness, if this is not a giant Cypher heroic fantasy explosion! Full Cypher rules are included and adapted for this fantasy setting. There are plenty of tweaks, at least to my slightly foggy Cypher recall, with characters built using:

The adjectives are called your mood and ancestry descriptors.
The noun is your character type.
The verb is your focus.

Lots of very cool mood, ancestries types and focus to quickly create your character, with the familiar 6 tier progression. Stuffed with magic and one use magic items (Cyphers), a full gazeteer of the world, with an example bestiary.

Vast Cypher fantasy, I expect with a lot of playable adventures to come.

This looks like it will be Brit-distributed, abd Modiphius is also involved.
But I onky want a 5e version myself, not dual-stat, so let me read more.

Othets can support the Kickstarter live now "Against the Faerie Queene"

Art looks slightly sketchy to me, but more to the point, it's the same problem I had with Legends of Avallen: I want an RPG more grounded in real Celtic mythology, not a pastiche or D&D-ified one. Ideally what I would love is a Mythras 'Mythic Ireland' book, or perhaps a 'Cú Chulainn' RPG along the lines of the recent Beowulf one.

Good observation. I too noticed some negatives in the art and lore previews. It iis too DnD-esque to respective Celtic myths and instead just uses them as a cosplay costume.

"Adventures in Middle-Earth" and if you thought that was a long title, here, check this out "The Lord of the Rings Role Playing" (TLotRRP).

Would "The One Ring 5e" been too rude?

Anyway, I am getting the core book, since 5e makes this compatible with AiME and surely uodates those rules a bit.

Also makes you wonder with so much 5e Grogrardia in the wild, the biggest hindrance to revolutionary One D&D is the weight of all published 5e products.

Just backed this after chatting to the author at Tabletop Gaming Live a couple of weeks ago. It has a very interesting resolution mechanic (watch the video as it explains way better than I can) and a lot of extras - including STL files for light-up spaceships and D&D-styled bird men which I loved! Has anyone else come across this?
Sorry - not sure how to post a link without it being pulled up as spam.

Looks like it is here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/927742767/saril-rpg-adventure-more

So I got one of my refunds processed for a Kickstarter, which I can divert into these Flip Dice that are definitely on fire trending to a Million.
The creator extended the Early Bird so I just got mine. Sadly, my refund only covers half the cost so still seeking funds before month ends.
At least Marie Kondo will be happy, I am dropping products to pick up replacement products, thus, keeping my splurges from overflowing.

The FlipDie to me look more at home in Savage Worlds than Dungeons and Dragons. Several backers are pushing for Pirate themed coins.
Others want a metallic dragons set. I would love a metallic dragon on one side and its equivalent chromatic on the other, but doubt it.

While Saril looks interesting it is definitely not on fire.

Yes, I thought that too. A shame as - correct me if I'm wrong - I think that Kickstarter was originally intended for just this type of project but now seems more dominated by bigger professional publishers? I hope it gets a bit more love in the next few weeks.

I’ve just backed a new campaign by Gaming Ballistic for GURPS:

Nightmare Fuel by Gaming Ballistic

2as6fexwc1wgcrica4p67v9obzxm

This campaign is for three new monster books for GURPS. One each on insects, plant-monsters and snake-monsters.

Gaming Ballistic are the only authorised third-party publisher for GURPS at the moment and have already delivered some excellent products via Kickstarter. This is using BackerKit’s new crowd funding platform.

I can whole heartedly recommend Gaming Ballistic if you are at all a GURPS GM.

Twilight 2000 Urban Operations has just opened for pre-order. Although I was very ambivalent about the game (although I really like what Fria Ligan have done with it) because of the war in Ukraine, I will get it to table at some point (possibly North Star?). This is an interesting expansion.

https://mailchi.mp/frialigan/twilig...hR1Mz2cF9ShJGkQePyznrVTgScRaz8SNZovJeNQGqxs1E

Details:

Twilight: 2000 - Urban Operations is a massive modular expansion that includes everything you need to play in urban environments. The expansion is loosely based on the classic module Free City of Krakow from the first edition of Twilight: 2000 RPG,but designed to be used in any city environment.

https://freeleaguepublishing.com/en/store/?product_id=7829011169538

This boxed set includes new combat and travel rules for urban environments, close quarters fighting, new factions for the PCs to tangle with, new scenario sites to explore, and introduces the new plot concept to create longer story arcs. It also describes the two sample towns Krakow and Karlsborg in text and maps. Contents of the boxed set:
  • A 96-page book stuffed with new rules and gaming material.
  • 16 new Encounter Cards, for use in any town or city.
  • 10 modular battle maps for urban environments.
  • 4 modular battle maps for close quarters combat.
  • 4 scenario site battle maps, two of which for close combat quarters. 54 battle map tokens for debris, sandbags, floor level indicators, blocks and breaches.
  • A double-sided full-color city travel map for the example towns of Krakow and Karlsborg, format 558x432mm.
  • A double-sided full-color battle map for the Wawel castle in Krakow and Karlsborg Fortress, format 558x432mm.
The official retail release is planned for early 2023, but the pre-order in the Free League webshop gives immediate access to complete PDFs.

Free League, maybe consider changing the city to Kharkiv?
My saving grace is that I have the collector's edition of the core game so can avoid this one because it will not match up aesthetically in the packaging.

I don’t think switching it to Ukraine would be especially sensitive. Although the engine would work well enough for modern combat.

I have pondered a bit about this, and if I run it, I’ll probably make sure I always refer to the enemy forces as Soviet or ‘the Enemy’.
