However it's still $25
I thought so too but put it in my basket about an hour ago just in case and at checkout it was discounted to $0.However it's still $25
I think the basic premise of this story could be 'what if the D&D 5E party defeated the Dark Lord and spent the next two decades winning the peace, and being eaten up by it' which is a fine enough idea, but Gareth Hanrahan brings his many (many) years of RPG industry experience creating and running those kinds of settings to bear, creating something that feels fresh and innovative, no mean feat within the tropes of D&D-with-the-serial-numbers-filed-off High Fantasy. Readers of his Gutter Prayer series won't be as surprised by this, but for those who aren't, it could be easy to read the blurb and think this is more trad high fantasy of elves and dwarves and magic swords. That's just the veneer for what is a much richer, more complex story and setting with morally ambivalent characters, a plot that twists and turns, and an ambiance that owes as much to Lovecraft as Tolkien, playing with those hackneyed tropes whilst very much respecting them. It's also very well written, with a light touch that is not as common as one might wish in this genre. Will be picking up the sequel.

I know some of you enjoyed the first outing - this novel continues the story, changing focus and expanding the story, but still including the gang from before.
She says:
