• The Tavern needs to be a safe place and comply with the law. In the UK the OSA requires us to know the age of our members and posters, and yet the UK Govt. has not provided a method to do this that is affordable to small voluntary BBS like ours. To that end, all members are safe and secure, we know you must be adults by now. However if you wish to join as a member, please contact us using the form at the [very] bottom of the page and we shall do a one to one verifiaction.

As a heads up for those who want to fiddle around, the US HumbleBundle has a Discworld bundle at the moment: https://www.humblebundle.com/books/terry-pratchetts-discworld-harpercollins-encore-2026-books

Things to note: US only and you need a Kobo account to redeem the books. It's also only 39 of the 41 books; missing are The Last Hero and Raising Steam.

If you want the bundle, here's how to get it:

1. Go to your account in Humble Bundle and delete any credit card info. Switch your account to US (note you can only do this a limited number of times every 3 months - I leave mine in the US).
2. Switch to a browser with a built-in VPN like Opera if you don't have a VPN already. Make sure that's set to US.
3. Purchase the bundle USING PAYPAL not a credit or debit card.
4. Redeem the books via your Kobo account (note you may need to be logged into the US site). This is a bit fiddly and remember to do it immediately as I think there's only a month to get them.
5. Download the epub files straightaway. Technically what you're doing is against T&C; if you're very paranoid, you can set up a different Kobo account for these bundles rather than use your regular account.

Yes, I got the bundle Tuesday evening; we had a handful of Discworld in ebook - Mort & some City Watch books. Getting the rest for £12-£13 was a no-brainer. If I want to be completist, I can replace the UK editions with the US editions.

I do like me some John Brunner...

Missed it I think

Same here.

Yes I realised that pretending to be in the US wasn't required and I bagged it for 99p along with a few other books.

Thank you!

Thanks, I love everything of his I have ever read and yet I discover there is more I haven't!
