• TavernCon is open to all on this forum and you are welcome to register to play and/or offer a game! It's all free and online. Your participation can be anything from one game, or a full weekend, signing up and running as many games as possible! We like to run the event each year to provide an opportunity to actually meet up virtually, and talk and play great RPGs. Hope to see you there. :)

TavernCon TavernCon: 21-23 November 2025

They can join in without being members here. The discord route works, then if they want to join the Tavern later, we have met them and can personally authenticate their age.

So to sum up, I can invite them to the Tavern's Discord myself. If they then choose to join the forum they can message you over Discord. Right?

Perfect.

A reminder to those who have registered to GM, that games need to be in by close 17th October.

Player sign-up will be from 18th October
Sign yourself up for a maximum of two games from 18/10, then two more from 25/10, then any more games from 1/11.

We will close player sign-up on the 9th November.

Due to my Dad's health being in serious and rapid decline, I regret that to announce that I'm pulling my game from the schedule. I apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. I'll remain signed up to play and see how that goes.

I'll save my Dad's Army game for a future date.

Last call for those who wish to run games at the event.

Almost time to sign up

I really want someone else to play ALIEN REMUS so I can get to play this great game.

Taverncon clashes with Consequences for me, so I can't make it. But I'd also like to play Darren's ALIEN Remus game - so maybe he'd be able to run it on another night sometime?

(Although I should say that I don't want to play it with more than six players. Preferably fewer. Not that I don't think Darren can handle that number (I know he can), but because I know that I don't like being a player in large groups. Particularly online.)

I will certainly be running it again.

I think I’ve put up to six players but I think for online play it would be fine with around four. There’s always communication issues that can hamper online games.

My Owlbear and Wizard’s Staff 25 con report has the player characters and scenario introduction as part of the game report for Alien Remus.

We currently have 2 player for @Darran game and I am really trying to get 2 more. Anyone on here fancy this excellent opportunity to play this excellent game with this excellent GM?

TavernCon Mutant Chronicles Update

Based on current sign up both Mutant Chronicles adventures scheduled for Friday 21 19:30 and Saturday 22 19:30 a going ahead, so I figured it was time to start sharing the available pre-generated characters. There is still room for more if anyone is interested. No experience with Savage Worlds or Mutant Chronicles required. More details in my original post:
There are 10 pre-generated characters. They have been fully built in Roll20 but I will just provide a quick overview here so that those who have signed up can start choosing on a first come – first served basis.

…………..
Hi @Polar Blues, I’m in your Saturday evening game. Thanks for posting the pregens; I think I’d like to play the MAD agent please if that is okay.
Cheers, Ian

Sure! I love MAD agents, they are probably one of the most original archetypes in the game.

I'm down for both games @Polar Blues. Friday I roped in an old friend who I don't think frequents The Tavern. If you can suggest a good 2 person combo for that adventure, and something to complement @Astronocky 's choice for Saturday?
Pretty familiar with Savage (although as I discovered when I started a new game last week I'm a bit rusty) but don't know a huge amount about the setting.

My first reaction would be to say just look at the pictures, browse the quick descriptions and follow your heart.

If you still want more direction, I'd say maybe pick one of the big hitters (Demon Hunter, Freedom Brigade, Venusian Ranger, Wolfbane) and maybe the Techno Archeologist, because it's always handy to have a smart character on the team.

The Mystic is good if you like to play spellcasters, though he has mostly support spells.

If you have no strong preferences, the Merchant Captain is a well rounded, jack of all trades.

Here are some PCs for the Eye of J'Kalaa. For those of my players familiar with the Heroic Fantasy game, I can take requests and we can bespoke create one for the game. We are running at Level 2.
