Borrowed Man of Honour from the library and am about 1/3 into it. Different hero (?), earlier war (Marlborough's European campaigns). Like Keane, Steele is a morally ambiguous man with more than a whiff of sexism about him. Not sure if I'll continue with the series; as per usual, #1 and #3 are in the ebook catalogue, but not #2...
 
I remember enjoying those books years ago. As you say, a different war with some subtle wiggles that intrigued me. I remember no details but the vibes though! 😀
