The Search/Destroy Agency needs some experienced bounty hunters to go to the Ancient & Historic City of Milton Keynes and do school careers talks about joining up and life as a Strontium Dog. The Stronts who were supposed to do it are suddenly and inexplicably absent, so you guys have drawn the short straw. Talking to kids – what could possibly go wrong?

Once every few years the timid, harmless Gronks swarm: they float around their solar system, emitting an aura of love, peace and harmony to try and make the Galaxy a better place. Unfortunately, a gang of poachers have figured out how to negate the non-violence aura and are slaughtering the Gronks for their pelts. Stronts to the rescue!

NIGHT OF THE PUMPKIN
System: Judge Dredd (GW version)
The Pumpkin's coming… The Pumpkin's coming…
It's Halloween in Mega City One Sector 306. As Mega City Judges, it's your job to bring law to a city of 800 million people, where an average of 96 crimes are committed every second.
Halloween is unpredictable. All the crazies come out at Halloween. Mega City One on a normal day is crazy. Halloween is worse. Much worse. Drokk knows what all this pumpkin graffiti is about that's been appearing across the sector. Probably just another juve craze.
Your patrol has pulled the late shift. Fire up your Lawmasters. It’s time to get out on the streets and make sure the citizens of Sector 306 have themselves a peaceful and law-abiding Halloween. If they can’t manage that, they can always cool off in an iso-cube, or meet the business end of your Lawgiver.
Remember: You are the law!

IMPERIAL MEASURES
System: 2d20 Dune (a crunchier hack)
The year is 10179AG. Twelve years before the events of Dune.
House Harkonnen has had control of the siridar fief of Arrakis for almost 50 years, mining spice for the Empire. Through their persecution of the Fremen, and through the minimisation of outlay on infrastructure and pay, the Harkonnens have managed to pay the tithe they owe to the Emperor, as well as keep a substantial amount of melange for themselves. They have become obscenely wealthy during this period.
Sir Theobald Hagal, notorious libertine and playboy, and cousin by marriage of the Padishah Emperor, Shaddam IV, has gone missing on Arrakis. His mother, Lady Astrid Hagal has petitioned the royal court for help finding her wayward son.
Your team has been assembled and sanctioned to travel by Guild Heighliner to Arrakis, ascertain Theobald’s whereabouts, and if possible bring him safely home.
THE EMPEROR HAS SPOKEN!

Rift Hauler 5A7 has been posted 6 weeks overdue, on her mission six parsecs into the Great Rift. An emergency crew has been pulled together for Rift Hauler 4A4, diverting her from planned maintenance at the Imperial Naval Base at Giikur. It's most likely that the 5A7 has technical issues which have prevented a timely return, but she's out in the Great Rift and there's a base there that could be missing supplies if the worst has happened.
You're assigned to the crew for this important emergency response mission; resupply the base, help recover the missing vessel or find out if she made it to this outpost, all alone in the dark.

Looking at the indicators that we've been given, we need 7 more player/GM spaces in Slot two (Saturday Afternoon) - so ideally one more game plus a couple of spaces in other games. Is anyone able to offer an extra game here?
There's a small chance we may need a couple of GMs to add extra character spaces on Slot 5 (I will do this with mine as a starter).

UPDATE FOR GMs - 14 April 2025
Registration for North Star 8 is now closed, and we have a fantastic selection of games on offer for the weekend. Thank you to all the GMs that have offered games.
Each GM gets an early chance to pre-book one game to play in for each game they offer to run. We’re please that this opportunity is open until the end of Easter Sunday (20th April).
How I do this?
1 If you’re a GM, go to the Timetable spreadsheet and select the ‘GM Prebooking Sheet’. You will find one or two entries for your name on the sheet depending on how many games you offered.
2 Simply fill in each row with your choices in order of preference. It’s recommended that you fill in all columns as very rarely you won’t get into your first one or two choices.

But how do you keep it fair?
We keep the process fair by randomly assigning each GM slot a number. We then allocate in descending order.
At this stage we will not usually fill a game with more than half GMs to be fair to players (so a 4 player game can have 2 GM pre-books, a 5 player game have 3 pre-books).
But this doesn’t let me book all the slots at the con!
• If you are running one game, you will also get 3 pre-books in the process with the rest of the attendees.
• If you’re running two games, you’ll also get 1 pre-book with the rest of the attendees.
• If you’re @Whirlmeister (heroically offering 3 games) then you will get two pre-books as a GM as they will fill all the slots in the con. Thank you!
I’m a GM. I didn’t read any of these messages or didn’t complete my entry before the deadline. What happens?
