Modiphius has announced an online convention running from 3rd-6th December. The event will run alongside UK’s Dragonmeet convention with some shared panels and content as we celebrate the gaming community together.

Modiphius will be presenting a wide range of panels about our games including streamed games of the 2d20 Dune and Fallout RPGs with panels covering the latest news on our range of RPGs and miniatures games.

We’ve partnered with StartPlaying.Games who will be helping GMs and players connect for the weekend of events - you can hop over there now and create a game - why not GM Star Trek, Infinity, Conan, Vampire, Mutant Chronicles, John Carter, Dishonored, Odyssey of the Dragonlords (or others) and find some new players?

Oh, if only it didn’t clash with Dragonmeet...
It is four days compared to Dragonmeet's one day, so you can easily attend the three non-clashing days.

Basically, anything on the Modiphius.net store if a GM is ready to step up.
Basically, ModCon is like Paizocon to play days-on-end of core Modiphus 2d20 games and allied Fria Ligan Year Zero Engine games for me.

Other top games are Paul Michener's classic d6 Liminal modern horror.

And for the Indie crowd, Modiphus distributes a fair bit of those too.

I think basically it is Dragonmeet. Or the two are one big pudding.

(Dragonmeet still hasn't told its social media followers what's happening, so any who don't happen to look in the right places won't have been able to plan.)

I assumed that Dragonmeet physical would be cancelled. What is happening?

BREAKING NEWS: Dragonmeet 5th December.

Dragonmeet will happen online this year (John Dodd organising that) , but a one day online only con for traders is not ideal still.

Modiphus will run a lot of seminars for their product lines heading our way in 2021. Did anybody say Dune?

ModCon is basically the Modiphus attempt at a multi day Paizocon equivalent.

It's going to be a virtual con. It's been mentioned in John Dodd's FB, the Dragonmeet FB group, and on the Dragonmeet website, but not yet on DM FB page or Twitter. GMs are registering games in the background, I think, but the DM site still has 2019 details.

There'll be games running, and I think traders in the sense that there'll be some sort of hub linking out to them, and seminars, and I'm not sure whether there was reference to networking/chat. Watch the site, I reckon.

Ah yes I think I spotted that.

Yes, ModCon seems to be the Modiphius Entertainment equivalent of Paizo's PaizoCon, with a focus this time on games by Modiphius.

There currently is no way to sign up to GM from that ModCon page. I’ve alerted them on FB, but not sure they understood. Will prob get fixed eventually. It might be via the Dragonmeet sign-up page.

The process is pretty convoluted. You need to create an account at "StartPlaying.games," build up a profile, then create a template then adventure and select a one-shot with the ModCon tag. Honestly, that process alone is enough to drive away many a GM who has not already used the site.

Yes, I thought that was just me. I was going to offer some games, but I'm a bit sniffy about "startplaying.games" and their "Pro GM" nonsense. I have no desire to have a profile on that.

And there's seminars from some GM Advice bloke on Youtube and his name is "Guy" too - it's like they're deliberately trying to annoy me!

I realise this is not them, it's me, but it's not like there's a dearth of online cons for me to GM at.

Yes, that pro-GM DnD5e-heavy focus of the site, flaunting years of experience, total sessions managed, and all that jazz, is damn annoying. :-(

I expect Startplaying are good people, but I scrolled through the carousel on the home page and I've not heard of any of them.

If anyone wants a paid GM experience (and has disposable income of course) I encourage them to check out Sword and Scroll, which has experienced streaming GMs. (Same folks as D&D in a Castle.)
