LongCon is a gaming convention dedicated to the fun of games without frontiers (or time limits). We welcome full day or two day ttrpg games to be run at the pace that works for you.

Games will either be pre-booked, partially booked or Open

Pre-Booked - bring your game pre-formed and ready to go with a full group. Soak in the atmosphere, the chance to be away, and access all the familiar facilities at The Garrison Hotel.

Partially Booked - as above but with some player spaces that will be filled by a convention sign-up process.

Open - ready a game with player places available for sign-up by a convention sign-up process.

GM Game offerings to follow soon!

The registration of games will be open soon, we are just finessing the process.

I'm hoping to run 'Adventures in Lost Aldland' for a day, using the Age of Heroes, light BRP-alike Swedish ttrpg.
This will be a mini sandbox of exploration and adventure in the west of Aldland, a kingdom broken by the Kestolian Empire and now haunted by banditry and worse!

It's a Time of Heroes...

Whereas I’m thinking of a one-day romp through this classic, using Ancient Dragon Empires (aka the hack of Wordplay/Tripod to run Stormbringer that we’ve brought to the table before at Furnace quite successfully). If the NBA session that @dr_mitch has offered doesn’t work out then I may also do a second day with “The Black Sword”.

Too many fab games! I hope to get in on one of those @Dom !

Things are once again in flux in the Traveller household (who would have thought my internet pseudonym would become so literal!), so I won't be attending face-to-face cons for a while. Sooner or later I will be back, though, and regularly, so I hope there'll be a LongCon in '24!

I always love these Swedish games, the awesome retro fantasy is in voque again, which is awesome.

If my crew cannot get together for LongCon, I will have to seek a spot in the above. Not sure why they rather play only in Geek Retreat.

I’ve just pitched this for the Saturday. If anyone wants in, let me know - at the moment this is open to anyone but I can add players in.

If @dr_mitch doesn’t pitch his game of NBA, I will offer the second part as well. You don’t need to play both…

Here is the game schedule so far:

If you are running a game, then fill in the form to get added to the schedule. If you are planning to come to LongCon, then please sign up asap. I am going to formally open up player sign up after Expo.

I am sorry to formally announce that LongCon 2023 is cancelled. This is largely due to the Garrison being full and very high hotel prices across the Sheffield area.

Full convention refunds have been sent through PayPal. I have contacted the hotel, so they are aware that we have had to cancel on this occasion (though their events person is away).

The programme was looking really good, and we were getting a late flurry of sign-ups, so we'd like to run the event next year about the same time, but with lots of lead time for accommodation booking. We'll be back to let you know dates and hope you will join us!

Best wishes,

Graham & Dom
