[watching] Doctor Who

I enjoyed it. I would have liked to hear the theme properly. I don't care who will be guest starring later in the season (although, I'm looking forward to Alan Cumming). And I immediately got back into posting roleplaying content AS the episode was progressing. Yes, my Tim Shaw may not be perfect, but it had me thinking from the get go.

I thought it was ok, it was pretty obvious that:
Mrs Bradley Walsh was going to cop it as she wasn't shown as one of the new companions

I don't really care how smart you are, you're not going to be building a super high tech device from scratch in an engineering workshop.

I guess they have to run through all the usual stuff, next episode they'll have to do the "bigger on the inside" stuff again.

Didn't really feel any different to me from previously, I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing!

I agree with your spoiler.

Disagree with you on the screwdriver. From Jon Pertwee building a time field scrambler out of a teapot and spoons (etc) to Tennant's "Timey-wimey detector" (which seemed to have a kids toy at the centre) The Doctor cobbling devices together from mundane items is trope.

And it's a good thing that it doesn't feel different.

Credibility was stretched during the show, but that was more about the trains running on time in Sheffield! ?

Amen Brother.

Episode 2

Nice jolly linear episode.
The reunion with the TARDIS was IMHO charming

Not quite sure what the traditional "unable to hit anything" elite sniper bots were doing there - were they part of the race or just hanging around in a 10' square room waiting for PCs to come along? Were the evil bits of duster ever explained? Not sure I'd want to be that close to a huge burning expanse of acetylene either even if there was that much leeching out of the ground, in which case you'd probably be affected by it way before then.

It was ok but nothing special.

The final consolidated viewing figures are in for The Woman Who Fell to Earth. A whopping 10.54m tuned in to watch Jodie’s opening episode, with a further 360,000 plus catching up on the iPlayer, to bring the grand total to just over 10.9m viewers. This is the first episode of Dr Who to be number one in the ratings.

Episode 2 was okay...entirely predictable from start to finish and a bit heavy handed at times, but perfectly good fun.

And I really enjoyed the first look at the new Tardis interior. Also...left over Stenza weapons, Stenza conquests, the Stenza Tim Shaw in the first episode...anyone would think the Stenza are going to be a big significant element this season, maybe even a season arc.

There is a "who" shop in Upton Park, East London that has been around forever. I thought this had closed, but as it hasn't I may visit it in a couple of weeks.

Well EP03 really touched all the notes, good timey-wimey, progressive message, Reithian education, topicality, notes of relevance to all characters, touching, well written and we'll acted.

When I saw the topic of the episode, I found myself dreading the Who team would end up producing something cringeworthy, overly preachy, or tasteless. I needn't have worried; it was a triumph.

Some anchors need to be dropped, to steal a phrase from TV Tropes.

With Series 12 rumoured to begin on New Year's Day, Chris Chibnall has announced that Series 13 is now in the works. I know the BBC have commissioned up to series 15, as the overseas streaming rights to series 13-15 were recently sold to HBO.

What would people like to see in series 12?

more spiders..
i really love this who, and the sheffield vibe, so i am quite ready to be delighted.
